The Halloween review part 1-Halloween Around the World
Author: mr.lateNov 2

Halloween (or Hallowe’en) is an annual holiday observed on October 31, primarily in Ireland, Scotland, Canada and the United States. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday All Saints’ Day, but is today largely a secular celebration. Says Wikipedia, but Halloween is no longer confined to the above mentioned Anglo Saxon countries. Halloween has spread it’s bat wings across the globe like Valentine’s Day has. From the United States of Trick or Treat to China, scary masks and funky costumes are the norm on Halloween.
Drug Wars and other great links
Author: mr.lateOct 28
Drugs are big business and big business means big money means stiff competition. In a normal industry you’d simply try to beat the competition by making a better product or by building a good brand. In the drugs business you simply try to do away with the competition by killing them. Pablo Escobar did it and the Mexican drug gangs have been at it a while too. This year alone thousands of people have been killed in Mexico due to the drug wars and the town of Ciudad Juarez is often the battlefield. As long as the demand is there the supply will keep on coming and death, destruction and wealth with it. GRAPHIC CONTENT.

The Bull’s Revenge
Author: mr.lateOct 19

If you’ve ever driven the E80 from Valladolid past Salamanca to Ciudad Rodrigo, Spain you’ll have seen them. The white washed haciendas, situated in dry, hilly fields, populated by oak trees. If you have good eye sight you can spot the black and brown bulls resting underneath these oak trees.
Sheltering themselves from the scorching sun. This is where the bulls are bred. The bulls you see in bull fights. They are given a life of luxury. All so they give the crowds a good showing when they are finally called upon to enter the arena. When it enters it destiny it is confronted by noise, horses and men trying to get its attention. It makes the bull go crazy.
Exactly what the crowd has been waiting for. All the bull can do is give as good as it gets during the time it’s still alive. And boy, sometimes it succeeds with flying colours.

Author: mr.lateOct 13

After months under ground the 33 trapped Chilean miners have started emerging from the collapsed San Jose mine which they’ve had to call their home since August. Each miner will be pulled up in rescue capsule Phoenix for the 600 meter ride to sunlight. Each trip takes up to 20 minutes. Once daylight has been reached the miners await a life of interviews, books, movie deals and happy families.

Wave riders and other great links
Author: mr.lateOct 8

Last week in Huntington Beach, California, the third annual multi-faith Blessing of the Waves event was held to honor the ocean and protest coastal pollution. Several thousand reportedly attended the event, in part to recognize a spiritual aspect of man’s relationship to water, the coastline, and the surf. Whether it’s massive rolling ocean waves, or standing waves in rivers, or wind-driven lakewater, people around the world find a way to get out and ride on belly boards, kiteboards, longboards, wakeboards and more. As summer rolls to a close, find here a collection of recent photographs of these waveriders around the world over the past several months. (41 photos total)

Rescue of the Chilean Miners
Author: mr.lateOct 5

On August 5, 2010, the roof of the San José copper-gold mine collapsed, leaving 33 miners trapped underground. Almost 2 months later they are still trapped, but a plan to free them has finally been put into action. Drilling is currently underway to open up a shaft to the miners through which a metal cage can be let down and the 33 men hauled up one by one. Family and friends, who have set up camp above where the miners are trapped, have high hopes the men will all be out before November.

Some people think that people with red hair aka Gingers don’t have a soul and that is why the 18 year Youtube User Coppercap was mad, very mad. His video GINGERS DO HAVE SOULS is a real Internet Meme and watched by millions of people. If Gingers don’t have a soul the devil did some good business in the Netherlands, because of Redheadday.Redheadday is the name of a Dutch summer festival that takes place each first weekend of September in the city of Breda, in the Netherlands. The two-day festival is a gathering of people with natural red hair, but is also focused on art related to the colour red. Images by Jurgen Rijsdijk
